Think about it: every human-made object in the world has been designed and built. Some of those objects are created to be thrown away after just one use. Such a waste! With some innovative thinking and 3D design skills, we can upcycle those throw-aways and transform them into something new, guided by Yogi Berra’s values of determination, perseverance and teamwork. When you come to a fork in the road, take it…and upcycle it!

With these four steps, we’ll learn, we’ll iterate, we’ll think outside the cardboard box:

1

How to think like an innovator

Before we jump into Solid Edge, we’ll kick-off with some games that help us step out of our everyday way of thinking and learn the innovative mindset.

Ronnie describes how to sketch a tab for a lid.
2

Follow along, then recycle the rule book

With three project modules, you’ll learn how to use the basic tools in Solid Edge through guided step-by-step projects. At the end of each project, you’ll iterate and innovate your way to as many new creations as you can dream up.

3

Learn the Fundamentals

We’ll cover real world skills in Computer Aided Design (CAD) as you explore 3D thinking, iteration, design and teamwork.

Let’s Go!

Cover all the bases

Over the course of all five modules we’ll cover the basics. But don’t stop there! Along the way, you’ll take what you’ve learned in each lesson and push it further to explore new ideas and create something uniquely your own.
